Vake Park — the district’s green anchor, with its grand staircase, fountains, cafés, and open-air cinema. Ride the cable car (or hike the trail) up to Turtle Lake for swimming, a running loop, and city views. Mziuri, the beloved children’s park, fills the ravine toward Vera — and Lisi Lake is a short drive uphill.
Chavchavadze Avenue — Tbilisi’s flagship street: flagship stores, banks, and the constant promenade. The historic main building of Tbilisi State University presides over its lower end, while Abashidze Street runs parallel as the district’s leafy dining-and-boutique strip.
Vake runs on breakfast — the district has Tbilisi’s densest cluster of brunch cafés, most of them along and around Abashidze Street. Expect everything from third-wave coffee to white-tablecloth Georgian, with new openings constantly. If a restaurant trend arrives in Tbilisi, it lands here first.
Vake is Tbilisi’s default family district — calm residential streets, the city’s best parks, and several international schools and kindergartens in and around the district. It’s consistently rated among the safest neighborhoods in the capital.
Honest note: the metro doesn’t reach central Vake — Delisi station sits on the Saburtalo edge. Daily life happens on foot along Chavchavadze, with buses running its length and the center about 10–15 minutes by car. Parking on the older streets is tight.
